peacehill farm

Seasonal work is available at Peacehill which will be with vegetables and potatoes predominantly. Planting is between March and July and harvesting is between June and November. Some tractor driving will be available for appropriately trained people only.

Both hourly and piecework. For trained tractor drivers we will be happy to negotiate a salary. Accommodation is NOT IN CARAVANS. It is in a converted farm building next to a beautiful lake, making it very scenic. There are five bedrooms. There are single beds with mattresses, pillows, clean bed linen and storage. Each room has a key and there is a safe for each student. There are rooms suitable for couples. There are 5 toilets, 4 showers and 7 hand basins all separate for males and females. There is a large kitchen for everyone to use with great facilities. There are 2 washing machines and a dryer and there are also 2 recreation rooms with a television and DVD, a pool table, table tennis, darts, weights and high-speed wi-fi internet access. There is also an area outside the accommodation to hang up washing and working clothes etc. There are some bicycles available. All students must provide and cook their own food and keep the living areas clean and tidy (cleaning rota will be provided).

The villages of Wormit, Gauldry and Newport-on-Tay are within walking distance and provide grocery, post office, bar and food facilities. Dundee is 6 miles away and is on both train and bus routes - easily accessed from London, Grasgow and Edinburgh. Edinburgh is one hour by train, Glasgow is 1.5 hours. A weekly shopping trip will be arranged by the farm to Tesco and Lidl. The farm has a 15 seater minibus. It also has chickens, turkeys, pigs, cattle and a lot of arable and this makes the farm an interesting environment to work in. If students need anything at all the farm is always on hand to provide help and support. The farm hopes to have some BBQ's and outings throughout the season to have some fun!

Accommodation is £31.57 per week including all bills (electricity etc) and internet access.
